New evening hours and dates listed on the Hours of Operation page. Our goal is to help those who cannot come to the food pantry during the day, we have found that many people who are fortunate to have gotten jobs are still struggling with the cost of food on the rise. Thank you for supporting our mission.
The Portage Township Food Pantry provides emergency assistance to families in crisis situations and currently serves many families every month. 

Hours of Operation
Every 1st, 3rd, and 4th Friday from 10am to 1pm and the second Thursday from 4pm to 7pm of each month. Please see the Hours of Operations page for specific dates and times.

: 5391 Central Avenue, Portage, Indiana 46368. In the back of the Portage Adult Education Building.

Application Requirements: Must live in Portage Township, show proof of residency, and be certified by the trustees office which is a simple process. Call the Trustees office at 219-762-1623. They will tell you what you need and give you a short 15 minute appointment that will certify you each October for the following year.

The Portage Township Food Pantry will  provide 1 large "basket" of food per month for those who qualify.
